A Place In The World
Film Screening
Saturday 18th October 6pm
Join us for the world premiere, a new film that explores the work of artist Garth Evans and the remarkable journey of his Untitled Sculpture – from its creation in Cardiff in 1972, to its disappearance, restoration and eventual return.
Full of humour and honesty, the film traces Evans’ 60-year career and his deep connection to South Wales. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with artist Garth Evans, Producer Leila Philip, Zoë Gingell (Oriel y Bont, USW) and Hannah Firth (Chapter).

Hollow Mountain – Short Film Screening & Exhibition

Friday 7th November 5pm
Join us for a special screening of Hollow Mountain, a short film that documents the implications of a quarry expansion on the people of Glyncoch. The film reflects on community, industry, and the future of our shared landscapes.
Alongside the screening, there will be a Q&A session discussing the film and the future of Craig-yr-Hesg Quarry, offering an opportunity to hear from those directly involved in the conversation. The evening will also feature a solo performance by Fiona Cullen, adding a powerful creative response to the themes explored in the film.

Donation Based, Pay what you can on the day.
A story telling performance about all the funny and tragic things that happen in valleys life and you couldn’t make up. It will have a bilingual element to fit in with Diwrnod Shwmae/Sumae, a good place for people to hear/practice their Welsh.
So any crafting groups, wellbeing, general service users. It’s quite comedic so will warm most hearts!
